Into The Woods.......

So I auditioned on Tuesday and Wednesday, got the flu on wednesday... but I have a callback this afternoon! Yay. So even though I have the flu I'm going to go do all the callback stuff. Then come home and sleep more... Oh, it's the school musical. Yep. =D I have to sing Giants In The Sky for the callback, and it has a high note at the end, which will definitely kill me, thanks to the influenza.... oh well! I'll have fun.

On a side note, everything else is going well. Although MORP is tonight and I can't go... =( Eh, it's fine. There's always next year!

I'm in the ensemble

Well... I'm in the ensemble. I'm a traveling salesman. My name is Max. I have no songs to myself. Dev has a real role. Grr. Not to sound mean, or derogatory, or some other word, but it really bothers me that he has a bigger role. Why? Because he has Asperger's. I know that is a horrible reason, but it just bothers me. However, I can take comfort by telling myself that he's friends with the director (which he is), he has more experience, and maybe I just didn't choose a good audition song. I don't know. I'm just a tad bitter about it. It hurts my ego a bit, because when we were the same role in The Sound of Music, EVERYBODY said I was MUCH better than he was. And now he has a better role... humph. Call me whatever you want... It just annoys me. Becca and Tommy didn't get AMAZING roles either. Becca gets one song. Tommy gets a speaking role. I just get to sing. I feel bad for Tommy though.... he really wanted to sing. He's good, too. Stupid casting lady...

Audition!!

So, today I auditioned for "The Music Man". It's just a kids theatre show, but Becca and Tommy (Becca's brother) are doing it too. We'll find out who got in the cast tomorrow! Anyway, we had to go up in pairs, so Tommy and I went first, and we weren't that bad! Not amazing on the acting, but pretty good, considering we hadn't read the script until we were on stage. I sang "Santa Fe" form RENT, he sang "76 Trombones" from The Music Man. I think I did well. I don't know... but compared to the kids in there, I must have been awesome! The upper age limit is sixteen, by the way.
After we sat through all the other kids' auditions, Becca, Tommy and I walked over to the Gelato store and got some ice cream, in the big cups. It was GOOD! Then we hung around the Village Theatre, being teenagers (and they act like pretty average teenagers, no matter how "mormon" they'd like to be) until somebody got there. Mr. Brown (their dad) came to pick them up, and offered me a ride. So he dropped me off at home, I ran upstairs to get on my computer, and about 3 minutes later, my dad drove in. Guess what?... I LEFT MY BACKPACK AT THE VILLAGE THEATRE!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! Dad and I raced back to the theatre, hoping we would still find my backpack. IT WASN'T INSIDE!!!! We walked around looking and looking, until I finally called the director and asked if she had seen it. She (Pam) said she put it by the side door. DUH. I ended up with my backpack. And everything was fine.
